What is credit repair?
Credit repair basically means identifing areas of concern on your credit file (JJC’s, defaults or a bad payment history) and working towards cleaning up your file so that you become more credit worthy.
The first thing you need to do is to request a copy of your credit file from one of the credit reference agancies such as Experian Limited or Equilfax Limited. The cost of your credit report is £2.
Creditors and lenders use these credit reference agancies to make decisons on your credit worthiness when you apply for a loan and credit. Any adverse credit details on your file would seriously effect your chances of receiving credit now and in the future.
Check for in-accurate entries on your credit file
The credit agency will be able to discuss any entries on your file and will be able to advise you on how you may be able to remove adverse entries and how to go about doing this.
Best Wishes, Susan.
